Updates

I realize it has been incredibly too long since I have last posted, and I have seen way too many movies/shows to even begin to update everyone, so I've chosen to movies to discuss.

1) "The Kids Are Alright" - Well, I think the title pretty much sums up this entire movie....alright. I did not find his movie to be spectacular, in the least. I decided to watch it due to the three main actors getting GG noms for their performance, as well as the movie getting a nom, and boy was I.....surprised by the quality of the movie. While Mark Ruffalo and Julianne Moore's performances were adequate, they were no where close to being some of their best work, their characters had no depth to them and they just seemed sporadic with their decisions and judgements. Annette Benning, on the other hand, was fantastic. Her character started out being the head of the household, strict parent, who brings home all the income, but somehow manages to transition in to this vulnerable and sad character who realized the error of her ways and tries to change that. She played the role extremely well. Overall, I'd give the movie a solid C+, if not a B. The kids were just annoying in the movie, but I imagine that is what all 15 and 18 year olds are like these days.

2) "Inception" - Where to begin!? I guess I can begin with Marion Cotillard. She. Is. Magnificent. I am so looking forward to see all of her upcoming projects. She is stunning, in a classic beauty way, she is extremely talented, her abilities are a step above most of our American actresses. The movie itself was fantastic. The cinematography of the entire film was brilliant. I loved when in one world things would be happening in slow motion, yet in the other, it would be normal speed. The way the scenes were shot really made this movie. Everyone in this movie gave stellar performances, minus Ellen Page, who gave her usual one note performance, which is still good, I just think she needs to switch it up a bit. The idea of going in to a dream to plant an idea is so crazy that it keeps you interested to see how they do it, and having all of the different levels, while it may seem confusing, just made the movie that much better. I can't say enough good things about this movie.
